On May 27, 2024, 21-year-old Lucio "Moses" Castaneda was fatally shot in Sunnyside, Washington. The incident began when a vehicle collision occurred between Castaneda and 20-year-old Marques Cardenas from Outlook, Washington. Following the collision, Cardenas allegedly displayed gang signs before driving away. Castaneda pursued Cardenas for approximately five blocks, attempting to pull alongside his vehicle.
