He was known for his unforgettable smile, laugh, and his dedication to his family and community, including his role as a volunteer firefighter.
Angel was a loving son, brother, and father of five children.
On the morning of January 7, 2021, Sunnyside police responded to reports of a weapons offense at the 2300 block of Yakima Valley Highway. Upon arrival, officers found Angel Anthony Faz deceased in front of a trailer home. He had been shot in the back of the head, and seven. 223 shell casings were discovered near his body. Witnesses reported hearing an argument between Angel and two men, followed by four to five gunshots.
The investigation revealed that earlier that day, Angel had a confrontation with Bradley P. Santoyo and Javier Alvarran at an ex-girlfriend's home. The altercation began when Santoyo became upset after finding his nine-month-old baby left alone inside the house. This led to a fight between Santoyo and Angel, during which Angel allegedly pulled a shotgun from his vehicle and pointed it at Santoyo and his friends. Subsequently, Santoyo and Alvarran were involved in the shooting that resulted in Angel's death.
Bradley P. Santoyo, 26, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Angel's death.
