On May 12, 2023, Javon Tucker, a 28-year-old man from Columbus, Ohio, was fatally shot in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville neighborhood. The incident occurred around 1:29 PM when Columbus police responded to reports of a shooting on Mount Vernon Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Tucker unresponsive and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after at 1:58 PM. Another victim, a 31-year-old man, sustained minor injuries but was expected to recover.
