On July 27, 2023, 43-year-old Quiana La’Tika Butler was fatally shot in Cleveland, Ohio. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Superior Avenue and Ansel Road on the city's east side. Butler and a 43-year-old male companion were traveling east in a Jeep when multiple gunshots were fired at their vehicle. The Jeep continued for approximately half a mile before stopping near East 109th Street in the Glenville neighborhood.
A passerby noticed the male victim exiting the vehicle and called 911. Emergency responders pronounced Butler dead at the scene, while the male victim was transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center for treatment.
As of now, no suspects have been identified in connection with Butler's death. The Cleveland Division of Police is actively investigating the case and has urged anyone with information to come forward. In the wake of her passing, Butler's family and friends have expressed their grief and shared memories of her. Born on March 6, 1980, in Cleveland, she was the only child of Robin Butler and Kenneth Houston. She is survived by her two daughters, Kiarra and Ka’Mya, and her son, Ke’Von. A visitation was held on August 10, 2023, followed by a service on August 11 at Calhoun Funeral Home on Lake Shore Boulevard.
