On the evening of October 13, 2024, Cleveland police responded to a call regarding "unknown trouble" in the 16000 block of Euclid Beach Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle with two unresponsive occupants, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims, identified as 19-year-old Mikayla Janay Franklin and 19-year-old Damarion Bailey, were transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
