Asia Ahmed Mussa, a 22-year-old woman from Columbus, Ohio, tragically lost her life on August 17, 2023, in a shooting incident that has been ruled a homicide. The event occurred in the northeastern part of Columbus, where police responded to reports of a double shooting. Upon arrival at the scene on Valley Lane East, officers discovered both Mussa and a 23-year-old man named Ali Dirir inside a parked vehicle, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Initial investigations revealed that Mussa and Dirir were seated in the car when Dirir shot Mussa before turning the gun on himself. Both individuals were transported to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital but were pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The Franklin County Coroner's Office has classified Mussa's death as a homicide and Dirir's as a suicide, indicating the nature of the incident as a suspected murder-suicide.
