In the early morning hours of November 2, 2025, the life of 33-year-old Shakeilah Paulette White was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in northeast Columbus, Ohio. Known lovingly as Shak, she was a devoted mother to three children. Friends and family remember her as a beautiful soul with a vibrant spirit, whose laughter and energy could light up any room.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at a residence in the 1100 block of Wildwood Avenue. Columbus Police officers responded to a report of a shooting and found White suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The shooting was one of three homicides to occur on what became the city's deadliest day of the year.

At the scene, police detained 36-year-old Lezerick Davis. He was initially charged with tampering with evidence and weapons-related offenses before being charged with one count of murder. Authorities have indicated that the shooting was the result of a domestic incident.

Shakeilah White's death is described in her obituary as a result of domestic violence. She is survived by her three children, her parents, siblings, and grandparents. A visitation and memorial service were scheduled to honor her memory.
