On May 22, 2021, 16-year-old Olivia Kurtz was tragically shot and killed at Bicentennial Park in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred during an unsanctioned "pop-up party" at the park, which was attended by approximately 200-300 people. Olivia, a 10th grader at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center and an honors student, was one of six people injured in the shooting, with five others sustaining non-fatal injuries.
