Tyajah Nelson, an 18-year-old female of African American ethnicity, tragically lost her life on June 13, 2015, in Columbus, Ohio. She was one of four victims in an execution-style shooting that took place at a home on East Hudson Street. The incident was part of a robbery gone wrong, where the perpetrators, Robert Lee Adams and Jordyn Wade, were after drugs.
Robert Lee Adams, who was 28 years old at the time, pleaded guilty to the aggravated murder charges and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Jordyn Wade, who was 16 years old at the time of the crime, was also involved and received a sentence of 172.5 years to life in prison. The surviving victim, a 15-year-old girl, identified Adams as the shooter and provided crucial testimony during the trial.
