On February 5, 2024, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Columbus police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 100 block of West Cherry Street, near the entrance of Noir Lounge, a downtown nightclub. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men, 25-year-old Nigel L. Jackson Jr. and 24-year-old Percell E. Scott III, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical assistance, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by medics at 1:25 a.m.
