On May 10, 2024, Daron Aunshai Davis Sr., a 27-year-old resident of Canton, Ohio, was fatally shot inside a Regal Cinemas theater in Massillon. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. as Davis was leaving the theater. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as the shooting unfolded, with approximately 75 to 100 people present in the building at the time. Davis was found near the front lobby and was pronounced dead shortly after police arrived.
