Jerome Lusane, age 32, was tragically killed on April 24, 1988, in Lorain, Ohio. The incident took place at a birthday party at the UAW Union Hall on Baumhart Road, where Lusane was attending a social function. During the event, a group of uninvited young males crashed the party, leading to a confrontation. The party crashers were eventually escorted outside, but the dispute escalated.
