On June 8, 2024, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Akron police responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Raymond and West Bartges Streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Antwan James Edwards with a gunshot wound to his back. Tragically, Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene.
