Frank Dennis Mancini, a 72-year-old male of Italian-American ethnicity, passed away on January 23, 2012, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He was a former Akron Police Department officer who was shot and paralyzed in the line of duty on April 10, 1965. Mancini and his fellow officers, Eugene Hooper and Harold Wintrow, were attempting to arrest suspects involved in an armed robbery when the incident occurred. The suspects, Charles Jennings and Terrence Landry Jr., were both on parole at the time.
