On November 21, 2024, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Akron police responded to a shooting incident at a residence in the 100 block of East Wilbeth Road in the Firestone Park neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 32-year-old Darnell E. McGrady inside the home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, McGrady was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:45 a.m.
