Philip Hasan, a 61-year-old man from Akron, Ohio, died on September 18, 2016, following an officer-involved shooting. The incident occurred when police were called to an apartment building on Florida Avenue around 3:30 p.m. A man reported that Hasan had slammed his arm in a car door. When officers arrived, they claimed Hasan walked toward a van parked in the lot and allegedly reached for an assault rifle. Police said they gave verbal commands for Hasan to stop, but he pulled out the rifle anyway ...
