On December 9, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., eight-year-old D'Angelo Darrell Alcorn tragically lost his life in Akron, Ohio. While on the second floor of his family's residence in the 1500 block of Evergreen Avenue, D'Angelo accessed an unsecured handgun and accidentally shot himself in the torso. His mother was present in the home at the time and immediately called 911. Emergency responders transported D'Angelo to Akron Children's Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
