A man is killed by a drive-by shooting
On August 8, 2015, Michael Joseph Herring, a 32-year-old African American male from Akron, Ohio, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting near Maxen Drive and Fess Avenue. At approximately 5:14 p.m., an unidentified vehicle approached the area where Herring was standing, and its occupants opened fire, striking him multiple times. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Herring succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Akron Police Department is leading the investigation, and the case remains ...
