In the early evening of October 2, 2023, the life of 21-year-old Jimmy Smith III, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in his North Las Vegas home. At approximately 4 p.m., North Las Vegas police responded to a report of a shooting in the 20 block of Hoke Edward Court. Upon arrival, they discovered Smith suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
