In the early morning hours of March 19, 2024, the life of 27-year-old Silian M. Jimenez Bobadilla was tragically cut short in North Las Vegas, Nevada. A female of Salvadoran origin, she was discovered alongside another woman, 24-year-old Odaly E. Lopez-Diaz, in the 2000 block of McCarran Street. Both women had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Friends of the victims revealed that both Jimenez Bobadilla and Lopez-Diaz were mothers, each leaving behind young children.
North Las Vegas Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area at approximately 6:40 a.m.. Upon their arrival, they found the two women already deceased. The Clark County Coroner's Office later officially identified the victims and ruled their deaths as homicides. While the investigation is ongoing, law enforcement has stated they believe this to be an isolated incident.
