On August 18, 2023, 32-year-old Eric DeWayne Herring was fatally shot in the chest at the Huntington Place apartment complex in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Officers arrived at the scene around 11 p.m. and attempted life-saving measures, but Herring was pronounced dead at 11:19 p.m. An adult suspect, reportedly in a domestic relationship with Herring, was arrested at the scene.
