Marchone Abdullah, aged 74, was found dead on December 26, 2021, in Robbinsdale, a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was discovered alongside his daughter, Crystal M. Abdullah, aged 55. Both victims were found in a duplex owned by the suspect, Ibn Marchone Abdullah, who is the son of Marchone Abdullah and the brother of Crystal M. Abdullah.
The suspect, Ibn Marchone Abdullah, aged 47 at the time, confessed to the murders when he visited his brother's house on December 26, 2021.
He informed his brother that he had killed their father and sister a few days earlier and even asked if he knew anyone who could help clean up the scene. The brother, alarmed by the confession, contacted another sibling who went to check on the victims. Upon arrival, the sibling found the door to their father's unit open and discovered both victims sitting upright in chairs with apparent gunshot wounds to their heads.
Police were called to the scene and found a handgun and two discharged cartridge casings on the floor. The odor in the room indicated that the deaths had occurred several days prior. Ibn Abdullah was arrested at his brother's home in Brooklyn Park without incident and was charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
In January 2023, Ibn Abdullah was convicted of the murders by a Hennepin County jury. He received two consecutive sentences of 261 months each, totaling 43 and a half years in prison. He will not be eligible for release until he is 77 years old.
