On the evening of September 8, 2023, 21-year-old Vintrez Lamont Johnson was fatally shot in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood. The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of West 29th Street and Fremont Avenue South. Johnson was standing outside when he sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries approximately 30 minutes later.
