On the evening of Friday, October 6, 2017, a male resident of Phoenix, Arizona, Omar Gonzalez Martinez, was walking home after purchasing a meal from a local Mexican restaurant. His path took him along north 23rd Avenue, a familiar route that should have led to the safety of his own residence. However, the night took a tragic and violent turn in the area of 2300 West Heatherbrae Drive.
