On a Saturday afternoon, the life of Christina L. Hall, a 62-year-old White female from rural Oswego, Kansas, was unexpectedly cut short. The date was January 13, 2024, and what had begun as a deer hunting trip with her husband concluded in tragedy. After finishing their hunt, the couple returned to their pickup truck. As her husband, Derek Hall, was attempting to unload his rifle in the back seat of the vehicle, the firearm discharged.

The incident occurred in Labette County, at the Grand Osage Wildlife Area. Her husband immediately called 911 for assistance. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported Christina to Labette Health hospital. Despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
