On February 22, 2024, at approximately 1:54 a.m., Wichita police officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Garden Pines Apartments in the 8100 block of East Harry. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Audreanna Ohshay Marie Hidalgo with a gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations identified the suspect as 38-year-old Dennis Leroy Alcox, believed to be Hidalgo's boyfriend.
