In the quiet city of Wichita, Kansas, the life of a 46-year-old Asian woman named Tuyen Nguyen came to a tragic and abrupt end on the night of January 26, 2023. The devastating events unfolded inside her home in the 800 block of West Mount Vernon, a residence that would soon become the scene of a heartbreaking incident.

Police were first alerted to the unfolding tragedy when a family member of Nguyen’s 71-year-old husband, Bay Le, made a frantic 911 call. The caller reported the chilling news that Le had shot his wife. Officers were dispatched to the couple's home near the Arkansas River just before midnight. Upon their arrival, they were forced to make entry into the residence.

Inside, they discovered both Nguyen and Le with gunshot wounds. Le was pronounced dead at the scene. Nguyen, still alive but critically injured, was rushed to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save her life. Tragically, her injuries proved to be too severe, and she succumbed to them at the hospital.

The investigation into the deaths of Nguyen and Le quickly revealed a grim sequence of events. Authorities determined that the incident was a murder-suicide, a violent conclusion to what appears to have been a domestic dispute. The evidence indicated that Bay Le shot his wife, Tuyen Nguyen, before turning the gun on himself. As Le was identified as the sole perpetrator and was deceased, no arrests were made in connection with Nguyen's death. The case was closed as the community was left to mourn the loss of a life taken too soon.
