In the late hours of August 19, 2020, a burst of violence in Wichita, Kansas, claimed the life of 23-year-old Kylie LeAnn Marie Scott, a White female. The incident unfolded around 9:20 p.m. when police were dispatched to a business in the 900 block of North Grove following reports of a shooting.

At the same time, a call came in from a local hospital about a shooting victim who had just been brought in. That victim was Kylie Scott, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. A 54-year-old man ...
