In the early morning hours of October 6, 2024, the life of 21-year-old Hannah Tanui was tragically cut short in what Wichita, Kansas, authorities have described as a murder-suicide. The devastating events unfolded at a residence in the 800 block of South Edgemoor Street, where a quiet Sunday morning was shattered by violence. Tanui, had forcibly entered their home armed with a handgun.
Inside the residence with Jan was his ex-wife, Hannah. The person who alerted the police, who was in a relationship with Hannah and lived in the home with her, conveyed that Jan had made suicidal statements. Upon their arrival, officers attempted to establish contact with anyone inside the house but were met with silence.
