Death by Force

On the evening of May 22, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas, 21-year-old Jadidah Ponce was at home when she suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Emergency services were first alerted to a disturbance involving shots fired at the intersection of 29th and Broadway. Later, at 9:24 p.m., police were called to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis hospital where Ponce had been brought as a walk-in shooting victim. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
