Kathryn Bright, a 21-year-old female, was tragically murdered on April 4, 1974, in Wichita, Kansas. She was attacked in her home, where she was fatally stabbed. Her brother, Kevin Bright, was also present during the attack and was shot twice, but he survived by pretending to be dead. The crime was later attributed to Dennis Rader, the infamous serial killer known as BTK.
