On the morning of April 19, 2024, the life of Cody Paul Cooper, a 22-year-old male, was tragically cut short in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas. Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of SW Park South Court shortly after 8 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Cooper suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the city's fifth homicide of the year.
