In the early morning hours of August 18, 2024, the life of 26-year-old Malik J. Keith, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Topeka, Kansas. Officers responded to a call around 4 a.m. in the 3100 block of Southeast Fremont Street where they discovered Keith suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries, marking the city's 12th homicide of the year.
