On a Friday morning in Topeka, Kansas, the quiet of the 1300 block of SW Western was broken by a grim discovery. Just before 9 a.m. on September 6, 2024, police responded to a report of a person down. Upon arrival, first responders found Michael Sanchez, a 47-year-old male, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, Sanchez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
