On August 20, 2024, Topeka police responded to a report of an armed robbery near Southwest 29th Street and MacVicar Avenue. The vehicle involved was stolen by individuals known to the owner, with a child inside. The child was found unharmed shortly thereafter in the 3200 block of Southwest Central Park.
