In the early moments of October 12, 2024, a distressing call to 911 shattered the predawn quiet of a south Wichita apartment complex. The caller reported a shooting at the Emery Gardens Apartments on South Hydraulic, adding the chilling detail that children were present inside the residence where the violence erupted.
