On October 12, 2024, at approximately 12:03 a.m., Wichita police responded to a shooting at the Emery Gardens apartment complex in the 4200 block of South Hydraulic. Upon arrival, officers discovered 30-year-old Marco Antonio Gonzales-Arias with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.
