In the late hours of December 23, 2022, a tragic event unfolded inside an apartment in the 900 block of South Mission Road in Wichita, Kansas, forever altering the lives of several families. Jose Alvarez, a 39-year-old Hispanic man known to many as "Smiley," was inside the residence when violence erupted.
