On the evening of Halloween, October 31, 2024, the life of 13-year-old Donald Lavell Williams was tragically cut short by gun violence in Wichita, Kansas. The eighth-grader at Curtis Middle School was a boy with a zest for life, known for his love of sports and the outdoors. He had a passion for bike riding and fishing, and was a valued player on several youth football teams. His adventurous spirit had already led him to hike Pikes Peak and even catch a shark during a deep-sea fishing trip.
