John Gillette, a 48-year-old male teacher of unspecified ethnicity, was fatally shot on April 24, 1998, at a school dance held at Nick's Place in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. The incident, known as the 1998 Parker Middle School dance shooting, was carried out by Andrew Jerome Wurst, a 14-year-old student who brought his father's .25-caliber pistol to the event.
