In the early evening of February 26, 2023, the life of 22-year-old Carvarion L. Brown was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire in Shreveport, Louisiana. On that Sunday, Shreveport Police were called to the 600 block of Rainbow Drive in the Cedar Grove neighborhood, where they discovered a grim scene. A vehicle, riddled with bullet holes, had crashed, and inside were three individuals who had all been shot.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two,
including Brown, were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Carvarion L. Brown succumbed to his injuries. Another victim, identified as Jaeden D. Williams, also 22, sadly lost his life in the shooting as well. A third individual in the vehicle survived the violent attack.
Detectives with the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Unit began an immediate investigation into the double homicide. Their initial findings suggested that the gunman had utilized a rifle in the assault and had fled the scene in a gray Camaro. This getaway vehicle was later found abandoned near the intersection of East 65th Street and Henderson Avenue, offering a potential lead in a case with few early answers.
As of early 2024, no arrests have been made in the murders of Carvarion L. Brown and Jaeden D. Williams. The case remains an active investigation, and the families of the victims are left awaiting justice. In an effort to generate new leads, Caddo Shreveport Crime Stoppers has offered a substantial reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for this senseless act of violence. The community is still searching for answers in the double homicide that silenced the futures of two young men.
