Corporal Shawn Kevin Kelly, a 53-year-old officer with the Denham Springs Police Department, succumbed to gunshot wounds on June 2, 2023. The incident occurred on May 11, 2023, when Corporal Kelly responded to a disorderly subject call at the Spring Park Plaza in the 2300 block of South Range Road in Denham Springs, Louisiana.
