On May 26, 2023, Robert Lee Lavallias Jr., a 29-year-old resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was fatally shot near Prescott Road. He died at the scene of the incident.

The shooting is under investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD), and initially, the motive and suspect were unknown. The police had appealed to the public for assistance in identifying any suspects involved in the homicide.
