On a late Friday night in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, tragedy struck, ending the life of 29-year-old Robert Lee Lavallias Jr.. The fatal incident occurred on May 26, 2023, just before midnight in the 4100 block of West Brookstown Drive. Lavallias was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound. Initially, the motive for the shooting and any potential suspects were unknown to authorities as the investigation commenced.
For months, the case remained under investigation as Baton Rouge
Police Homicide Detectives worked to identify who was responsible for Lavallias's death. The public was asked to come forward with any information that could lead to an arrest.
A significant breakthrough in the case came with the identification of a suspect, 34-year-old Keith Williams. He was located and apprehended in DeKalb County, Georgia, by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, acting as a fugitive from the law. Following his arrest, Williams was extradited back to Baton Rouge to face charges for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of Robert Lavallias. He was subsequently booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
