In the early hours of May 30, 2023, a verbal dispute in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, tragically cut short the life of 23-year-old Tyron Dante Warren/Dunmore. The fatal encounter occurred around 1:00 a.m. in the 11800 block of Wentling Avenue, at the Hidden Pointe Apartments. Warren, a resident of Zachary, was shot multiple times and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting pointed to a disagreement between Warren and another man.
More than a month after the incident, on July 11, 2023, authorities made an arrest in connection with the killing. Andrew Joseph III, a 38-year-old from Baton Rouge, was taken into custody by Baton Rouge Police detectives and the U.S. Marshals.
According to sources, the events leading to the deadly shooting began when Warren and a female companion were searching for a friend's apartment and were knocking on various doors. An argument erupted when they knocked on Joseph's door, which escalated to the point of Joseph allegedly shooting Warren multiple times, including in the head. Following the incident, Joseph is accused of fleeing the scene. He was later booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the charge of second-degree murder.
