In the summer of 2023, a domestic dispute in New Orleans' 7th Ward escalated into a tragedy that ended the life of 40-year-old Joycelyn Bland. On the evening of June 2nd, police were called to a home in the 2400 block of Allen Street where they discovered Bland had been shot multiple times.
