Sistrane Edwards, a 53-year-old male, tragically lost his life on July 31, 2023, in Ville Platte, Louisiana. His death occurred during a shootout that erupted as a multi-agency law enforcement team was executing a warrant at a residence suspected of being a drug house. The exchange of gunfire resulted in the deaths of both Edwards and Ville Platte Deputy Marshal Barry Giglio. Another individual was also critically wounded in the incident.
