On July 31, 2023, Sistrane Edwards, a 53-year-old resident of Ville Platte, Louisiana, was fatally shot during an officer-involved shooting at his home located at 116 W Beauregard Street. The incident occurred when officers from the Ville Platte City Marshal’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant at the residence.
