Deputy Marshal Barry P. Giglio, aged 64 at the time of his death, was fatally shot on July 31, 2023, while assisting the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office in serving a warrant. The incident occurred around 8:30 pm in the 100 block of West Beauregard Street in Ville Platte, Louisiana.
