On September 10, 2023, at approximately 5:30 PM, Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office patrol deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 400 block of Browns Bend Road in Alexandria, Louisiana. The victim, identified as 41-year-old Brandy Joyce Hanks, was transported by Acadian Ambulance to a local hospital. Despite receiving medical treatment, she succumbed to her injuries at around 3:30 AM on September 11.
