In the fading light of a Wednesday evening in Shreveport, Louisiana, a young life was tragically cut short. On November 8, 2023, 18-year-old Jason Smith was discovered in a west-central neighborhood, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Sunnybrook Street and West Canal Boulevard. Emergency services responded to the scene and transported the gravely injured teenager to Ochsner LSU Health hospital.
