Marcus Thornton, a 38-year-old resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, was fatally shot on February 12, 2023. The incident occurred at an apartment in the 1900 block of North Hearne Avenue, where Thornton was pronounced deceased at 2:43 a.m..

The Caddo Parish Coroner identified Thornton as the victim, and the shooting is part of the city's homicide tally for 2023. At the time of his death, Thornton was the 10th homicide victim in Shreveport for that year.
