In the spring of 2016, a dispute in Shreveport, Louisiana, tragically cut short the life of 55-year-old Michael L. Hamilton. On the evening of May 23rd, police responded to a call of a shooting at a residence in the 1900 block of Legardy Street. At the scene, they discovered that a confrontation had escalated into an exchange of gunfire, leaving three men wounded.
Michael L. Hamilton sustained fatal injuries in the gunfight. Two other men, 33-year-old Erion Hamilton and Zackery T.
Winn, were also injured during the altercation but survived. The incident prompted an intensive investigation by Shreveport Police detectives as they worked to piece together the events that led to the deadly shooting.
Within days of the incident, investigators identified a suspect. On June 1, 2016, authorities arrested 21-year-old LilTerrance A. Pierce in connection with the shooting. Following an interview with detectives, Pierce was charged with illegal use of a weapon and booked into the Shreveport City Jail. At the time of his arrest, the investigation into the shooting remained active as police continued to gather information about the crime.
